Who has never heard of Andrea Bocelli? The talented Italian lyric singer known all over the world thanks to his capacity to put in contact the opera and people, using his unique style, able to blend “easy listening” to his talent as tenor. His live performances have seduced thousands of people of everywhere: from the concert for Pavarotti’s funeral where he exhibited together with Mart J. Blige and the Grammy Awards to support Haiti, to the royal wedding of Albert II of Monaco.
In 2010 his name has been included in the “walk of fame” in Hollywood. Just few people know that Bocelli comes from Tuscany, exactly from Lajatico, a little village in Pisa province, close to Volterra. That’s here where he decided to establish his “theatre of silence”, an original project blending art, culture and territory which is already at its eleventh edition.
It is an event taking place in a huge natural amphitheatre surrounded by Tuscan hills, where just for one day per year you can be witness of an unique show. For the rest of the time the country returns to its natural peace, where the name “theatre of silence” comes from.
On this impressive stage world-class artists peformed: dancers like Roberto Bolle, piano players like Lang Lang or singers like Noa and Laura Pausini. The theatre of Silence represents a unique way to enjoy the beauty of the countryside, listening to the music and voice of Bocelli, surrounded by lovely hills.
It is definitely a memorable experience.
